The Quickpanel Email Editor provides a lightweight editor for writing and sending Email Messages.

On this page:

Writing a new Email Message

To write a new Email Message, simply fill in the following form fields

  • Email address
  • Subject
  • Message

Screenshot above: The Email Editor with an edited message ready to be send.

Once all form fields are filled in and the fields' values are valid, the 'Send now' button becomes enabled. Click the button to send the Email Message.

Emails written with the Quickpanel's Email Editor will be sent from the Email Account set as standard in conjoon. For more information about how to set an Email Account as the standard account for conjoon, refer to the section Setting an Account as Standard.

The Email Address field in the Quickpanel Email Tab is very restrictive regarding email addresses, as it uses a simple check whether the provided value matches the address pattern name@domainname.tld. If you want to work with more complex email addresses, such as firstname lastname <name@domainname.tld>, you should use the Email Editor with it's Recipients List.

If you omit the value for the Subject field and want to send the message anyway, conjoon will show a dialog that prompts you to specify a subject.

Screenshot above: If you omit a Subject for the message to be send using the Quickpanel's Email Editor, conjoon will show this confirmation prompt. Click the 'Cancel' button to cancel sending the message and return to the editor, or click the 'OK' button to send the message with the value specified in the input field as the subject. (warning) The value (no subject) is used as the default subject for the input dialog.

More information on how to write Email Messages can be found in the chapter 'Writing Emails Overview'

Editing the Message in an Email Editor

The Quickpanel's Email Tab can be dragged to the Workbench's tab bar, where a new Email Editor will open. This is mainly useful for messages that need enhanced editing which the Email Tab does not provide, such as adding multiple recipients to the message.

Opening the Quickpanel's Email Tab in an Email Editor
  1. Click the Email Tab's tab in the Quickpanel Widget and drag it to the Workbench's tab bar. Don't release the mouse button yet.

  2. In the tab bar, find your preferred spot for the Email Editor to open. Refer to Organizing Tabs for more information on how to drag & drop tabs.

  3. Release the mouse button once you have found the spot to place a new instance of an Email Editor. The editor will open and you can continue to edit your message.

If you have already edited the Email Tab's fields, those values will be added to the Email Editor, and in the same time reset the Email Tab to it's initial state to the same time (as shown in the above example).
