To move an Email Message into the Outbox, you first have to write a message. You can do so by
- creating a message from scratch
or - responding to an Email Message
or - forwarding an Email Message
and then pressing the Move to outbox Button from the Email Editor's Toolbar.
On this page:
The Purpose of the Outbox
The Outbox holds all messages which are to be sent out. Messages usually have to be put manually in the outbox, indicating that composing those messages is finished, but sending is intentionally deferred. This is for example useful if the corresponding mail server of an Email Account is not reachable for some reason, or if the recipient of the message should no receive the message before a specific date and time.
The Process of moving Messages into the Outbox
Before a message is moved successfully to the Outbox using the Move to outbox Button from the Email Editor's Toolbar, the message needs to be edited as itf it were about to be send right away.
Messages which have been moved to the Outbox cannot be edited to a later time anymore.
If you still need to edit a message to a later time before sending it, you should consider creating an Email Message Draft. |
When the Move to outbox Button is pressed, conjoon will treat the message just like a message that is to be send to the configured mail server, thus it will start with
- checking the validity of the message, and cancel the process if an error occurs
If no error occurred and the message is a valid email message ready to be send, conjoon will
- save the message into the Outbox, which is represented by the Outbox Folder
- updating the folder's Item Count with the overall number of messages currently in the Outbox Folder
- close the Email Editor
