Email Messages can be moved between folders in conjoon, which helps in organizing messages.

Moving Email Messages to a different Folder
Start by bringing up the Email Grid by selecting any of the Email Folders of your choice from the Folder Panel.
- From the Email Grid, select one ore more rows representing the Email Messages you want to move to another folder.

- Press the left mouse button on any of the selected rows, then start dragging the selection without releasing the button until a drag layer appears. The drag layer will show you the number of rows currently being dragged, along with an icon indicating if the current target of the mouse pointer is a valid drop target or not, i.e. if the messages can be moved there.

Find a folder which is a valid drop target. If the 'drop allowed'-icon
appears in the drag layer, it tells you that messages can be moved there.
If you are dragging a selection over a folder that has not yet been expanded, but want to inspect the folder's child folders without losing the selection, place the mouse pointer on the collapsed folder and wait a short moment, as the folder will then automatically start to expand, providing new possible drop targets.

Once you have found the folder where you wish to move the selected messages to, release the mouse button. The messages selected in the grid will then be removed from their original folder, and moved into the currently selected.

If there were unread messages in your selection, the target folder's and the origin folder's item count will be updated accordingly.

If an error occurs while the backend moves the messages to their new folder, the messages will be reset into the folder they previously belonged to. |
A Word on Folder Types
As described in Email Folder Types, each folder in the Folder Panel represents a specific folder type, which mainly indicates the task assigned to a folder (e.g. an Outbox Folder stores pending messages which have not yet been sent). Thus, an Email Message which is saved as a draft may not simply be moved into an Outbox Folder, since moving a message to an Outbox Folder involves some more operations than just dropping a grid row on a folder icon, such as checking the message for validity. To learn more about this subject, see the paragraph on Moving Email Messages between Folders, which will briefly explain what kind of folder type can store messages originating from other folder types.
