The Email Tab consists of a Toolbar, a Folder Panel and a Main Panel. It provides all the controls for reading, writing, and managing Email Messages.

The Main Panel
The Email Tab provides two different base views. The first is shown when you open up the Email Client and select the Email Tab without any Email Folder selected, which will show you the Introduction Panel.
When you click any folder - except for the Local Folders folder - the contents of this folder get loaded and displayed in the main panel. The elements responsible for displaying the contents of a folder are explained in the chapters Email Grid Overview and Email Preview Overview.

The Introduction Panel
The Introduction Panel provides shortcuts for often used functionality in conjoon's Email Client. It will also be shown when you select the Local Folders entry from the Folder Panel.

The Read Emails Link
When clicking the Read Emails Link, the Email Folders will get loaded into the Folder Panel, and then the first available Inbox Folder is selected. It's contents are then displayed in the Main Panel.
The Compose new Email Link
When clicking the Compose new Email Link, the Email Editor will get loaded into a separate tab for composing a new Email Message.
The New Account Link
When clicking the New Account Link, the Email Account Wizard opens up for adding a new Email Account.
The Account Settings Link
When clicking the Account Settings Link, the Email Accounts Configuration Dialog opens up for editing or removing existing Email Accounts.
The Folder Panel
The Folder Panel is explained in detail in the chapter Managing Email Folders.
The Email Grid
The Email Grid gets shown when a folder from the Folder Panel is selected.It is explained in detail in the chapter Email Grid Overview.
The Preview Panel
The Preview Panel gets shown when a folder from the Folder Panel is selected. The functionality of the Preview Panel is explained in the chapter Email Preview Overview.
The Email Tab Toolbar
The Toolbar of the Email Tab provides controls for managing the view of the Email Tab and also for marking Email Messages. It also provides access to functionality related to fetching and writing emails.

Some buttons might not always be enabled in the toolbar, depending on the current selection in the Email Grid. Also, if no folder at all or if the Local Folders folder is selected in the Folder Panel, some elements of the toolbar will also be disabled.

Regular Buttons
The following buttons are always rendered into the Toolbar:
The Get Email Button
The Get Email Button is responsible for querying configured Email Accounts for new messages. It is explained in detail here. It will be disabled if there is currently no Email Account configured.
The New Email Button
Clicking the New Email Button will open up the Email Editor for writing new Email Messages. It will be disabled if there is currently no Email Account configured.
The Reply Button
Clicking the Reply Button will open up the Email Editor for replying to an Email Message. It will be disabled if there are currently no rows or more than one row selected in the Email Grid.
The Reply All Button
Clicking the Reply All Button will open up the Email Editor for replying to an Email Message. It will be disabled if there are currently no rows or more than one row selected in the Email Grid.
The Forward Button
Clicking the Reply All Button will open up the Email Editor for forwarding an Email Message. It will be disabled if there are currently no rows or more than one row selected in the Email Grid.
The Delete Button
The Delete Button will delete the selected email messages. It will be disabled if there are currently no rows selected in the Email Grid.
The Spam Button
The Spam Button will mark the selected email messages as 'spam' or 'no spam'.
The Spam Button's rendering depends on the type of grid row selected in the Email Grid. If the row representing an Email Message is already marked as spam, the button will be rendered with a 'no spam' label
. Otherwise, the button will be rendered with a 'spam' label
. The button is disabled if there is currently no row selected in the Email Grid. The button is also disabled when browsing through messages from the Draft Folder, Outbox Folder or Sent Folder.
If there are more than one rows selected in the grid, the rules for rendering the Spam Button are as follows:

The Preview Button
The Preview Button will take care of showing/hiding/re-arranging the Preview Panel.
Folder Context Sensitive Buttons
The following buttons are only rendered into the Toolbar depending on the type of folder that is currently selected in the Folder Panel:
The Send Now Button
When viewing the Outbox Folder's contents, the Send Now Button
will be rendered into the Toolbar. When clicked, the Send Now Button will invoke sending the selected Email Messages.

The button will be disabled if there is currently now row or more than one row selected in the Email Grid.

The Edit Draft Button
When viewing the Draft Folder's contents, the Edit Draft Button
will be rendered into the Toolbar. When clicked, it will open up the selected Email Message for editing in the Email Editor.

The button will be disabled if there is currently now row or more than one row selected in the Email Grid.
When the grid reloads or buffers new rows during scrolling, some buttons in the Toolbar will be disabled. They will get enabled again once the loading/buffering has finished. |
Resizing Panels in the Email Tab
The Folder Panel, the Preview Panel and the Email Grid can be resized when showing in the Email Tab.

To resize any of the panels from the Email Tab, simply press the mouse button on one of the borders, then drag the mouse to the left/right (Left Border) or up/down (Center Border). When releasing the mouse button, the panel gets resized to the position where the border was dragged to.
You can also collapse the Folder Panel by simply clicking the 'collapse icon' in the vertical middle of the border
. The panel will then disappear from the view, moving the left border to the very left of the Workbench. For expanding the Folder Panel again, click the 'expand icon'
or any other region of the left border.
